Reading Recap: NYU Thesis Reading - May 17, 2013

The NYU Thesis Reading is really the culmination of our MFA program.  There are the big NYU graduations (and I'll talk about one of those tomorrow), but the thesis is reading is an intimate goodbye to the program.  Almost everyone in my cohort read during it and it was wonderful to hear all the beautiful, different voices that make up our little group.  Some small touches made it especially special: Joanna Yas put together a gorgeous anthology of all our work and Rachel Zucker gave out postcards of poets and chocolate bars.  Lots of professors, friends and family came for each of us, so there was a party afterward and we all had a blast.  The greatest part of being at NYU has been the incredible support I've found there, and that support was out in full force on May 17th.  It was easily one of the most meaningful readings I've ever attended, and it really felt like the best possible end to a program that has meant so much to me for the past two years.
