Ephemera from the Museum of Myself - Halloween 2003

For Halloween 2003, I dressed up as a housewife. That's me in the top center photo, wearing an apron. I loved that apron. I baked bread once, and put it on top of the bread, like the Tassajara Bread Book instructed, and got dough stuck all over the back, and washing and drying it only made it worse. I kept that apron, bread dough stains and all, until two months ago.

I was dressed as a 1950s housewife because I've been obsessed with 1950s fashion for my whole life.

In fact, I was so into housewife fashion in high school that I actually wrote an article on it a few months earlier. I imagine either the article research inspired the costume, or costume research inspired the article.

Happy Halloween, folks! Have a fun and scary holiday tomorrow!
